As the crisp fall air settles in, it’s time to embrace the season’s festivities with a deliciously comforting Pumpkin-Flavored Chai Latte! This delightful drink combines the rich flavors of pumpkin, spices, and espresso, perfect for sipping on chilly days.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 5-6 fresh mint leaves
- 2-inch piece of peeled ginger
- 4 cloves
- 1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, and nutmeg (combined)
- 1 cup of water or apple cider
- ½ cup of your preferred milk
- ¼ cup of your favorite half-and-half
- ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree
- 2 shots of your favorite espresso
- Handheld milk frother
- 2-3 bags of your preferred chai tea
Instructions
- Infuse the Spices: In a medium pot, combine 3 tablespoons of sugar, mint leaves, ginger, ground spices, cloves, and 1 cup of water or apple cider. Heat over medium-low until the mixture is warm and fragrant.
- Prepare the Milk: In a separate pot, add the remaining tablespoon of sugar and ½ cup of milk. Bring it to a gentle boil. Once boiling, pour this milk into your first pot with the spiced water.
- Tea Time: When the mixture in your first pot reaches a boil, add the 2 chai tea bags. Allow it to boil for 10 to 12 minutes, letting the flavors meld beautifully.
- Make the Foam: While your tea simmers, it’s time to prepare the foam! In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree, ¼ cup of creamer, and ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream. Use your handheld milk frother to whip it until it’s perfectly foamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Brew the Espresso:Prepare your 2 shots of espresso in your preferred method.
- Strain and Serve: Once your tea has finished boiling, strain out the spices using a coffee filter or a metal filter for a smooth finish.
- Assemble Your Latte: In a 16 oz cup, start by pouring in your espresso shots. Next, add the spiced tea and finish with a generous layer of your pumpkin foam on top.
