Job Description: The Director of Risk Management will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s risk management framework. This role involves identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and creating strategies to mitigate them while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks across the organization, including operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a culture of risk awareness.
  • Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and monitor risk exposure; prepare regular reports for the executive team and board of directors.
  • Collaborate with various departments to design and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring that risk considerations are integrated into business processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management practices and promote a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.
  • Stay current on relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring the company remains compliant and identifies potential regulatory risks.
  • Develop and maintain crisis management and business continuity plans to prepare for and respond to unexpected events.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Risk Management) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Professional certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM, PRM) is a plus.
